For over a decade, Method Race Wheels has been at the forefront of off-road performance by engineering wheels that appeal to both the enthusiast and the seasoned athlete. From Baja races to overlanding, Method has built a reputation for pushing the limits.
Fox Factory shares that same competitive DNA, developing cutting-edge suspension products for the performance hungry driver. When Fox Factory set out to build the Fox Factory Edition Chevrolet Silverado, it needed wheels that were as advanced, and performance driven as the rest of the truck.
This resulted in a first-of-its-kind, forged aluminum wheel designed exclusively for the Fox Factory Truck that combined Method’s racing expertise with Fox Factory’s high-performance legacy. However, these wheels now available through Method will fit most lifted GM 1500 trucks and others using the 6x5.5 bolt pattern. Upgrade your truck wheels and ride in style!
With patented Bead Grip technology, custom milling and chamfered edges, these wheels redefine what is possible for off-road-ready trucks.
Performance Meets Engineering
Enter Sean Kleinschuster, the lead engineer behind these specialty wheels. With years of experience in aerospace and automotive industries, Sean played a pivotal role in shaping this project. Over 4-5 months, his team developed a design that combined Method’s signature simplicity with the rugged performance demands of the Fox Factory Edition Chevrolet Silverado.
“Fox [Factory] viewed Method as the leader in the off-road wheel space based on our competition record and our position in the market,” stated Kleinschuster. “We wanted to create a wheel that, when you first see that truck from 20 feet away at a dealer lot or an event, you instantly recognize it as a Method wheel.”
From custom milling to chamfered edges, these wheels mirror Fox Factory’s racing heritage while optimizing strength, weight, and fitment. With a forged construction, these 17” wheels reduce weight while maximizing durability, making them an ideal match for the truck’s suspension system.
Specifically engineered for this Fox Factory Truck’s weight, suspension, and geometry, they are a perfect complement to the other accessories and performance mods. In fact, the Fox Factory Truck is the only production-built Silverado on the market with 37” tires while maintaining the chassis’ original geometry, ensuring optimal reliability and durability.
Forged Construction vs. Cast Wheels
Unlike traditional cast wheels, which involve pouring molten aluminum into a mold, these wheels are forged by forming under immense pressure. This method results in superior strength and weight savings over cast.
The Method wheels for the Fox Factory Chevrolet Silverado feature:
- 17 x 9 forged 6061 billet alloy construction using the iconic 12-spoke design and HD inner lip for unbeatable strength with a 2650 lbs. load rating at each corner.
- The 0 offset (5” backspacing) allows optimal clearance to suspension, steering and body when fitted with 37-inch tires.
- 20% weight reduction compared to cast wheels, enhance handling, and reduce strain on the suspension.
- Durable matte black powder coat for a clean, long-lasting finish.
By eliminating unnecessary weight and weak points, these wheels enhance both on and off-road capability.
The Bead Grip Advantage
Traditional Beadlock wheels are heavy, high-maintenance and often not street-legal. They require constant retorquing and frequent upkeep, making them impractical for most drivers.
Method’s solution? Bead Grip technology - a patented alternative that delivers the same secure tire retention at low pressures without the downsides of beadlocks.
Most customers don’t need Beadlocks,” explains Kleinschuster. “They see them on race trucks and think they should have them, but the reality is, Bead Grip does the same job with none of the maintenance headaches.”
“With Bead Grip, you get secure tire retention at low pressures without needing to check bolts every 250–500 miles. It is ideal for off-roaders, overlanders, and even everyday drivers.”
What Makes Bead Grip Superior?
- Proprietary grooves machined into the wheel’s circumference to enhance tire retention.
- Oversized safety hump for improved tire bead stability in extreme conditions.
- Inner and outer bead seat locking. Unlike Beadlocks, which only secures the outer bead.
So what does that mean for you? Lower tire pressures on the Fox Factory Edition Chevrolet Silverado means a larger contact patch for improved off-road traction. The Bead Grip technology has already been tested and proven in the highest level of extreme off-road racing, such as the Dakar rally, Baja, and King of the Hammers.
A New Standard in Off-Road Performance
The Method race wheels for the Fox Factory Edition Chevrolet Silverado are not just another set of wheels. They represent a fusion of engineering excellence, off-road capability, and innovative design. From forged construction to the Bead Grip technology, these wheels are built to perform at the highest level.
