Lowered trucks are having a moment again, and it isn’t by accident. In 2025, Fox Factory doubled down on street-focused performance with the Ram DC650 and the Black Widow Silverado SR, proving that a properly lowered full-size truck can perform as well as it looks. We decided to end the year with more to add to the stack with the Black Widow F-150 SR810, an 810-horsepower supercharged street truck that’s ready to deliver.
While this may seem like a standard F-150 Black Widow SR package, this truck offers serious performance in a lowered truck that hasn’t lost its capability or style. It's a serious street truck that pairs power with controlled, balanced handling that many lowered builds struggle to get right.
Why Lowered Trucks Matter
Custom trucks have always been about expression. Whether you plan to lift it or lower it, the goal has never changed. You want the truck to feel like yours. The problem comes when that expression turns into a compromise. A build that looks great in photos but spend more time on a trailer than on the road misses the point entirely.
Modifying trucks gained popularity in the 70s and 80s, and the definition of what is considered “cool” has shifted more than once since then. Lowered trucks never lost their appeal, but with the SR810, the goal was to keep the attitude while making sure the truck remains functional, safe, and enjoyable for years to come.
We’re talking about a lowered truck market that’s almost matured in a way. Early 2000s magazines may have inspired an entire generation, but today’s drivers want the same recipe on a reliable, modern platform. There’s something maybe charming about the shakes and rattles of a slammed 1990s Ford Ranger, but less so about the jolt from every pothole or that sunroof leak you’ve been meaning to fix for the last decade. We get it.
Modern trucks are simply better starter points. Stronger frames, more capable brakes, innovative electronics, and powertrains that produce real, usable horsepower have changed what’s possible. If you’re looking for a modern way to scratch that street-truck itch, the SR810 delivers all the rewards without risks.
The SR810: A Street Truck That Did Its Homework
The SR810 wasn’t created for driving to cars-and-coffee, going home, and calling it a day. It’s meant to be driven hard and gladly takes the abuse. The SR810 is a culmination of everything we’ve learned so far in modifying these modern pickups. However, we’ve taken it a step further with 810 horsepower, a Whipple supercharger, and a suspension setup built to handle laying down some rubber while staying in control.
The twin-screw Whipple Supercharger is notorious for creating efficient power gains with industry-leading cooling, torque, and top-end horsepower. It’s known for delivering power efficiently across RPMs, with many race teams using it in their drag race cars.
Chassis and Suspension
When you think of lowering anything, whether it’s a car or truck, what do you think of? You might think about how rough the ride will be, dodging potholes and poor tire wear due to bad alignment. While proper suspension setup in a lowered truck is a whole topic in itself, we’ve taken the guesswork out of the build process with the SR810.
Set up on a Ridetech performance lowering system with rear sway and traction bars, this truck is ready to hug the curves while remaining balanced and limiting body roll. Tuned specifically for the F-150's weight, power, and handling characteristics, the Ridetech system works together with the rear sway and traction bars to reduce body roll, manage weight transfer, and keep the SR810 stable in corners.
Lowered trucks often get a bad rap for tire wear, alignment issues, or ride quality. The SR810 avoids all of that with dialed-in geometry and damping backed by real-world testing.
Wheels, Tires and Brakes
With proprietary wheels, performance tires, and a big brake kit setup, the SR810 is prepped for reliable stopping power and aggressive handling. Whether you’re going for a spirited drive or just worried about safety on the road, this truck is equipped to rise to the challenge.
Subtle Aggression with Class
The SR810’s beauty is in its simplicity. It’s easy to make modifying a truck overcomplicated, and as a result, take away from the overall look and intention of the OEM. While lower, more planted than a standard F-150, the SR810 is the result of careful decision-making that focuses on sensible, tasteful modifications that benefit the driver.
Details such as the hood and fender vents, splitter, and tailgate spoiler support the truck’s airflow, balance, and proportion, complementing the lowered stance and street style performance. Black Widow and Fox Factory have always been about walking the walk rather than slapping on modifications that look objectively good, but do nothing for the performance. However, the SR810 balances that function while still setting itself apart from the other vehicles on the road.
Performance Interior
Speaking of sporty functionality, it doesn’t just end outside the vehicle. In the cockpit of the SR810, you’ll be met with premium leather, a performance steering wheel, and billet racing pedals. Included with the performance steering wheel are paddle shifters that allow you to manually shift through the 10-speed transmission, providing greater control over throttle response and keeping the engine in its optimal powerband.
Playing up the looks on the outside and having some OEM vanilla interior just wouldn’t work. The inside of the SR810 needed to feel like a street truck built for carving mountain roads or going head-to-head at the racetrack.
An SR810 As a Daily Driver
While it’s nice to read about it in a brochure, how is it to deal with it every day? Driving the SR810 makes mundane tasks like running to the grocery store an event in itself. The Borla performance exhaust grumbles awake but doesn’t annoy you (or your neighbors) when driving down local highways and city streets. Not to mention, everything that’s been done is street legal (depending on state laws) and covered by a 3-year, 36,000-mile warranty.
The Most Serious Street Truck We've Built...For Now
At Fox Factory Vehicles, the SR810 achieves more than we could have imagined in a street truck. It shows how our engineering team is constantly innovating and pushing towards that next level. That being said, we’re not even close to done paving the way for new technology and ideas to benefit you on the road.
